Library Visits

Your child will visit the library and check out 1 library book every week. The book must be returned on or before your child’s next library visit so your child can check out a new book. All of our students are given a special library book bag to transport their library book to and from home.

In Pre-K, children learn to be responsible for their belongings, including library books. Please help by having a special place at home for your child's library book and bag, and talk about taking care of books. If a book is lost or damaged, it must be paid for before borrowing another. Most importantly, read and enjoy the book with your child to build good reading habits and a love of reading.

Lost or Damaged Books

If a book accidentally gets damaged or lost, please contact the librarian as soon as possible at Rebekah.Jenkins@pisd.edu. If the book is damaged beyond use or lost, a bill statement will be issued showing the replacement cost. You may send in cash or make out a check to Isaacs ECS. If a page from a book is torn, do not attempt to repair it at home. We have special tape for repairs. Simply return the book with a note.
